We have permanent part-time positions available across all shifts (days, evenings, nights and weekends). Applicants must be available to work up to 24 hours a week, must be customer service oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment. Experience is an asset however, training is provided.
CASHIER
Answering customer inquiries, operating a computerized terminal, processing customers' orders, parceling groceries properly, ability to stand in a confined space for extended periods of time, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring the Front End is clean.
CUSTOMER SERVICE CLERK
Answering customer inquiries, bagging groceries and carrying them out to customers' cars, retrieving buggies, assisting customers in locating product in the store as well as doing price checks for cashiers, ability to stand for extended periods of time, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring store is clean.
GROCERY CLERK
Answering customer inquiries, stocking shelves, setting up and/or moving displays, ensuring shelf stickers are correct, ability to work in a very cold environment, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
NIGHT CREW CLERK
Stocking shelves, setting up and/or moving displays, ensuring shelf stickers are correct, ability to work in a very cold environment, ability to work midnight shifts, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
GENERAL MERCHANDISE CLERK
(Health & Beauty Care, Cosmetics, Cook & Table, Bed & Bath, Leisure, Apparel) Answering customer inquiries, stocking shelves, setting up and/or moving displays, ensuring shelf stickers are correct, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
BAKERY CLERK
Answering customer inquiries, taking special orders (occasion cakes, wedding cakes etc.) accurately & promptly, packaging, labeling and pricing bakery items, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
PRODUCE CLERK
Answering customer inquiries, trimming, washing, stocking and rotating fresh fruits and vegetables, stocking and maintaining Bulk Food Section, ability to work in a cool/damp environment, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
SALAD BAR CLERK
Answering customer inquires, cutting and washing fruits and vegetables, preparing fruit and vegetables for salads, taking orders for and preparing party trays, ability to work in cold conditions, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
DELI/SEAFOOD/MEALS TO GO/COFFEE BAR CLERK
Answering customer inquiries, describing and suggesting products, operating machinery, ability to withstand exposure to heat, cold, water, detergent and can wear rubber gloves, working with a variety of meat, seafood, cheese and prepared food, interested in working with specialty foods and developing knowledge of products and cooking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
MEAT CLERK
Answering customer inquiries, assisting customers with making their selections, responsible for cleaning, weighing, packaging, labeling, stocking and rotating all fresh, packaged, processed and frozen meats, ability to work in a cool/damp environment, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
PHOTOLAB CLERK
Answering customer inquiries, taking orders accurately and promptly, ability to operate photo finishing equipment, performing quality control tests and cleaning equipment, printing and packaging quality prints, operating a computerized terminal, stocking and selling film, photo albums, frames, cameras, electronics, etc., interest in developing knowledge about photography and photo finishing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
FLORAL CLERK
Answering customer inquires, taking care of flowers and plants, ensuring orders are taken accurately and promptly, demonstrating knowledge of department products, setting up displays and pricing merchandise, operating a computerized cash terminal, working in garden centre (seasonal), lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and ensuring department is clean.
HOLY SMOKES
The Holy Smokes Department offers a large selection of cigars coming from Cuba, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua and many other exotic countries. Customers can view a wide range of products in a walk-in humidor. Customers can also purchase lighters, cutters, pocketknives, pens and accessories. Holy Smokes provides expert and friendly service to meet a wide range of customers' needs. NATURAL VALUE
The Natural Value Department is a unique department within Your Independent Grocer patterned after a health food store. Natural Value offers customers the opportunity to buy health food store products such as natural foods, aromatherapy products, sports nutrition, herbal products, health and beauty care products and vitamin and mineral supplements.
